The Hospice Lottery Partnership was formed in 1997 to raise funds via a weekly lottery draw and seasonal Superdraws.
The money raised goes to a group of five hospices caring for over 11,000 patients and their families across Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Middlesex and Oxfordshire.
Our partner hospices
Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity, Michael Sobell Hospice, Rennie Grove Hospice Care, The Hospice of St Francis and The South Bucks Community Hospice at Butterfly House, offer care and support to adults and children in our community with cancer and other life-limiting and terminal conditions.
Their valuable services are provided at no cost to patients or their families, and they receive little government support: the hospices have to foot most of the bill themselves.
Keeping a lifeline going
Supporters of The Hospice Lottery therefore make a vital contribution to this income generation, with 60p of every pound raised going directly to the hospices. Without this support, many of their desperately-needed services might no longer be available to local patients, their families and friends.
Players of The Hospice Lottery not only enjoy the chance to win significant prizes; they also know that their purchases directly help those in our community affected by illnesses that have touched so many of us.
From strength to strength
Since The Hospice Lottery Partnership launched, we have grown to over 34,000 players and been able to donate over £9 million straight to our partner hospices’ funds.
Last year alone our supporters helped to fund an incredible £1.176 million of hospice care, meaning each partner hospice received £196,000 (£392,000 in Rennie Grove’s case as they have two lots of shares). We also have hundreds of happy winners enjoying spending their prize money!
As we reach our 20th year we’re focused on attracting many more new players and making an even greater difference to people’s lives at a time when they need help most.
The Hospice Lottery Partnership Ltd is licensed and governed by the rules of the Gambling Commission – apologies to our younger supporters but this means our players must all be over 16.
