Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity
Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity is based at Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Aylesbury, providing a first-class palliative care service free of charge to those with a life-limiting condition.
Their dedicated team care for 1,500 patients every year both in the hospice and at home. Services include inpatient nursing, a day hospice, 24-hour end-of-life care at home, a specialist Lymphoedema clinic, community palliative care, and bereavement support. The ‘Florrie’s Children’s Team’ provides vital care to sick children in the familiarity of their own home.
Florence Nightingale Hospice believes in a person being more than a patient. Their team is devoted to improving quality of life through symptom control, pain relief, and emotional and spiritual support; providing choice wherever possible, involving family and close friends at every stage.
The costs of running such an indispensable service involves raising £750,000 every year: your generosity in playing The Hospice Lottery forms a vital contribution to this.
The Lottery helps to fund our Day Hospice, where people draw strength and encouragement from staff and fellow patients.”
