Michael Sobell Hospice Charity
The money donated by The Hospice Lottery Partnership goes to Michael Sobell Hospice Charity, which uses the funds that it raises to support the work of Michael Sobell Hospice.
Based on the Mount Vernon Hospital site in Northwood, Michael Sobell Hospice Charity fully funds the Hospice’s Day Care Centre and also supports their inpatient services.
Every year hundreds of patients and their loved ones from north-west Hertfordshire and Middlesex can spend precious quality time together, whilst accessing first class medical, nursing and emotional care and support offering relief from pain, worry, and distressing symptoms. The team at Michael Sobell Hospice and the Hospice Charity place real value on the individual, respecting each patient’s autonomy and supporting them with any decisions they make.
The palliative day care centre provides support and advice on symptom control, counselling, and complementary therapies, as well as offering creative arts, crafts and outdoor activities, whilst the inpatient services provide expert symptom management, rehabilitation, respite and care in the last days of life.
Michael Sobell Hospice Charity has to raise over £1.6 million every year to fund this special care: your generosity in playing The Hospice Lottery forms a vital contribution to this.
As a charity, we could not continue to fund the Hospice's vital and essential local services without the donation from our lottery supporters.”
