Michael Sobell Hospice
Michael Sobell Hospice offers a specialist inpatient unit and day centre on the Mount Vernon Hospital site in Northwood. Set in beautiful countryside, it provides exceptional care, comfort and support to patients and their families in north-west Hertfordshire and Middlesex facing life-limiting conditions.
The hospice is a special place, where every year hundreds of patients and their loved ones spend precious quality time together, whilst accessing first class medical, nursing and emotional care and support offering relief from pain, worry, and distressing symptoms.
A 16-bedded inpatient unit provides expert symptom management, rehabilitation, respite and care in the last days of life, whilst the palliative day centre provides advice on symptom control, counselling, and complementary therapies, as well as offering creative arts, crafts and outdoor activities.
The team at Michael Sobell Hospice place real value on the individual, respecting each patient’s autonomy and supporting them with any decisions they make. Their aim is for every patient to experience a journey towards the end of their life that is peaceful, comfortable, and free from worry and pain.
Michael Sobell Hospice Charity has to raise over £1.6 million every year to keep this special care provision going: your generosity in playing The Hospice Lottery forms a vital contribution to this.
The income we receive from the Hospice Lottery helps to secure and continue the funding of our Day Therapy Unit, which supports patients with palliative care needs, enabling them to maintain their independence in a safe and supported environment.”
